Summary
Amentum is seeking an Electrical Specialist to join their team in McLean, VA. The role involves inspecting, repairing, replacing, installing, adjusting, and maintaining medium and low voltage utility systems and equipment.
About the Role
As an Electrical Specialist, you will be responsible for working from prints and diagrams to perform emergency and scheduled repairs, installation, testing, and inspection of electrical utility systems. You will analyze, troubleshoot, modify, and repair power delivery equipment and electrical circuits, assist in switching on utility systems, prepare maintenance records, and perform safety inspections. You will also direct other repair personnel and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
About You
Required:
- Journeyman Electrician license.
- Strong background in industrial and commercial electrical apparatus and control circuitry maintenance.
- Strong background in low voltage switchgear maintenance and repair.
- Familiarity with electrical test equipment.
- Ability to write and comprehend written and oral instructions.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of current NEC regulations.
- Eight years of experience in the electrical trade in maintenance and/or construction.
- High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent.
Preferred:
- Master electrician license.
- NFPA-70E Training.
- OSHA 10 Training.
- CPR Training.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
