Summary
Prolec Energy is seeking an Electrical Test Technician - 3rd Shift to join their team in Waukesha County, WI. The role involves performing testing of large power transformers and their components during Final Acceptance Test (FAT).
About the Role
As an Electrical Test Technician, you will develop expert-level skills to conduct various tests on large power transformers, ensuring compliance with IEEE standards and high-voltage safety protocols. Your responsibilities will include control wiring checks, low/medium voltage testing, high-voltage testing, and documenting nonconformities. You will work in a high voltage test lab and collaborate with peers and engineers to ensure accurate testing and compliance.
About You
Required:
- Associate’s degree in Power, High Voltage, Electrical Engineering, Utilities Engineering, Electro-magnetic or an equivalent major.
- 2 years' experience with Transformer Factory Acceptance Testing or Field Commissioning Testing.
Preferred:
- Certified (Industrial Journeyman/Master) Electrician or completed 2/3/4 Years degree in any discipline with a minimum of 2+ years’ experience in testing/design/field service/manufacturing activities in a transformer or similar manufacturing plant.
- Experience in high-voltage testing and maintenance on heavy electrical equipment.
