Yuma County is seeking an Emergency Communications Dispatcher - Temporary to join their Sheriff's Office team in Yuma, AZ. The role involves performing technical work in public safety communications under close supervision.
About the Role
As an Emergency Communications Dispatcher, you will operate fixed base communications equipment, including CAD systems and 911 systems, answer emergency and non-emergency calls, prioritize calls for service, dispatch emergency responders, and maintain communication with law enforcement personnel. You will also be responsible for logging messages, entering data into various databases, and ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive information.
About You
Required:- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Six (6) months of customer service or clerical experience.
Preferred:- Keying skill of at least 40 words per minute (wpm).
- Ability to obtain ACJIS and NCIC Terminal Operator Certifications within six (6) months of appointment.
