About the Role
As an Employee Relations Specialist-Labor Relations, you will be responsible for advising on employee and labor relations issues, including disciplinary and performance matters. You will proactively review policies for effectiveness, assist in handling complaints and grievances, and ensure compliance with labor laws and union contracts. Your work will support the mission and values of The MetroHealth System.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Three years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources.
- Experience in managing EEO issues, grievances, corrective action, FMLA, and disability accommodation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees, including senior leadership.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred:
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources.
- PHR certification.
- Experience in a unionized environment, including administration of collective bargaining agreements.
- Experience with Lawson or other HRIS systems.
