Summary
World Relief is seeking an Employment Specialist to join their team in Winston-Salem, NC. The role involves empowering newly arrived refugees by developing partnerships with local employers and providing job preparation and placement services.
About the Role
As an Employment Specialist, you will conduct initial employment orientations for refugees, enroll clients into the NC Refugee Support Services Program, assess clients' skills and work history, and develop individualized employment plans. You will work closely with local employers to create job opportunities, provide job counseling, and coordinate vocational skills training. Additionally, you will support clients post-placement to ensure long-term job retention and stability.
About You
Required:
- Mature and personal Christian faith.
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief.
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities.
- Bilingual (Spanish, Arabic, Swahili, Dari).
- Experience in cross-cultural programs.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Valid license, access to reliable vehicle, and clean driving record.
Preferred:
- Social work background.
- Experience in cross-cultural settings.
