Summary
Houston Methodist is seeking an EMT Paramedic to join their team in Houston, TX. The role involves assisting in the delivery of patient care and services to a diverse patient population and performing EKGs and collecting lab specimens under the direction of licensed personnel.
About the Role
As an EMT Paramedic, you will be responsible for performing patient care activities, conducting hourly rounds to ensure patient needs are met, and communicating effectively with patients and healthcare team members. You will also document patient care and observations, manage incoming patient information, and contribute to quality and safety initiatives within the hospital.
About You
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent education.
- Completion of EMT-A, EMT-Paramedic program or licensed Paramedic.
- Six months pre-hospital or hospital experience as an EMT or Paramedic.
- State Licensure or Certification as a Paramedic, EMT-A, or EMT-P.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications from the American Heart Association.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification.
Preferred:
- Experience in a hospital setting.
- Proficiency in electronic health records and Microsoft Office.
- Strong time management and communication skills.
