Hadron Energy, Inc. is seeking an Engineer Intern to join their team in the San Francisco Bay Area. The role involves supporting the multidisciplinary technical team in the development of Micro Modular Reactors (MMRs).
About the Role
As an Engineer Intern, you will assist in various areas such as reactor design, thermal-hydraulics, regulatory analysis, mechanical systems, and manufacturing processes. You will work closely with engineers and project leads, contributing to the lifecycle of microreactor development from R&D to commercialization.
About You
Required:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated interest in nuclear energy, decarbonization, or advanced energy systems.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely.
Preferred:
- Exposure to reactor physics tools (e.g., MCNP, Serpent, SCALE).
- Experience with thermal-fluids modeling (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL, RELAP5).
- Familiarity with CAD and mechanical design tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Knowledge of instrumentation, controls, or embedded systems.
- Passion for climate and clean energy innovation.
- Self-starter attitude and eagerness to contribute in a fast-paced startup environment.
