Summary
Saab, Inc., a global aerospace and defense solutions leader, is seeking an Engineering Operations Analyst for their Surveillance Division at the East Syracuse, NY facility. This role supports complex engineering programs by enhancing engineering operational efficiency and driving process improvements.
About the Role
The Engineering Operations Analyst will maintain and optimize engineering operations metrics such as velocity, on-time delivery, and defect rates; support integration of tools like JIRA, Confluence, PLM systems, and requirements management platforms; contribute to process improvement initiatives focusing on engineering lifecycle efficiency and team scalability; assist with compliance to engineering standards, design reviews, and documentation requirements; and identify opportunities for improving engineering processes through data analysis.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research/Management or related fields.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Foundational experience in engineering and development processes.
- Strong understanding of data analysis, visualization, and modeling tools.
- Analytical and critical thinker with ability to transform raw data into actionable insights.
- Ability to forecast resource needs including personnel, finances, and capital assets.
- Experience with performance measurement through defined engineering metrics for teams and processes.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Eligibility to obtain a Secret level security clearance.
- Experience working within a matrix organization.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass government security investigation.
Preferred:
- Experience in Business Analytics, Informatics, and Data Mining.
- Hands-on experience with Advanced Excel, PowerBI, or similar business intelligence frameworks.
- Experience with value stream, value network, or similar process mapping and improvement.
