Summary
Stoke Space is seeking a Turbomachinery Engineer to join their team in Kent, WA. The role involves extreme ownership over all aspects of turbomachinery design, analysis, manufacturing, build, testing, and validation for advanced reusable rocket engines.
About the Role
As a Turbomachinery Engineer, you will design, build, and test turbopumps for liquid rocket engines, own turbomachinery design and manufacturing plans, perform hydrodynamic and aerodynamic sizing and analysis, and support turbopump testing and performance trending. You will also be responsible for resolving hardware build non-conformances and conducting fault tree investigations.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or similar.
- 2+ years of experience in design, build, and testing of rocket engine turbopumps or related turbomachinery experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing hardware workflows to meet delivery dates.
- Extensive experience using CAD tools and configuration management.
Preferred:
- Understanding of hydrodynamic/aerodynamic design and fundamentals of turbomachinery.
- Experience with mechanical design including machined parts, additive parts, and rotating assemblies.
- Proficiency in heat transfer, compressible and incompressible flow, and cryogenics.
