San Diego Community College District is seeking an EOPS Counselor: Adjunct POOL (college/continuing education) to join their team in San Diego, CA. The role involves providing general counseling services to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals.
About the Role
As an EOPS Counselor, you will perform educational advising, administer and interpret assessment instruments for prospective students, inform students about college procedures, assist students in creating educational plans, conduct individual career counseling, and provide resources to resolve problems that interfere with student success. You will also provide counseling services for probationary and disqualified students and assist with the implementation of the college Matriculation Plan.
About You
Required:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Guidance Counseling, Educational Counseling, Social Work or Career Development, or the equivalent.
- Two years of occupational experience in work relating to ethnic minorities or persons handicapped by language, social or economic disadvantages.
Preferred:
- California Community College Counselor Credential (valid for life).
- Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
