About the Role
As an Estimating Engineer, you will prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for various projects, collaborate with multiple departments to develop competitive proposals, and ensure compliance with applicable standards. Your responsibilities will include reviewing bid documents, preparing detailed cost estimates, coordinating estimating activities, and monitoring awarded projects for continuous improvement.
About You
Required:
- 3+ years of project estimating experience in custom fabrication, preferably including both materials and labor.
- Strong business acumen with an understanding of cost drivers and profitability.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other CAD-integrated estimating tools.
- Advanced time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
Preferred:
- Skilled in factoring material lead times, supply chain impacts, and inflation trends into estimates.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software.
