About the Role
As an Exempt Organizations Counsel, you will be an integral member of Team LeGiT, focused on supporting CZI’s tax-exempt organizations. Your responsibilities will include providing legal advice, reviewing and negotiating agreements, drafting policies, and developing training for stakeholders. You will also assist with governance matters and engage in various legal and compliance projects.
About You
Required:
- JD required and an active membership in at least one U.S. state bar, preferably California.
- 7+ years of legal experience with at least 3 years handling legal issues associated with complex philanthropic organizations.
- Strong understanding of the Internal Revenue Code and regulations applicable to public charities and tax-exempt organizations.
Preferred:
- Law firm experience.
- Demonstrated interest in science, artificial intelligence, and/or education.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
