About the Role
As an Experienced P&C Field Services Technician, you will perform testing and commissioning tasks for Protection and Control systems on high voltage substations. Your responsibilities include hands-on protective relay testing, documenting site activities, supporting field teams, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. You will also mentor junior technicians and assist in monitoring subcontractor performance.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the electrical testing industry.
- Demonstrable expertise on transmission, generation, and distribution relays.
- Technical skills related to protective relays including relay calibration and testing.
- Proven experience with electrical field testing standards such as NETA, IEEE, and NFPA.
- Experience using technical software for testing purposes.
- Ability to identify routine field challenges and equipment issues.
- Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Technology degree.
- Experience in testing and commissioning electrical equipment on high voltage substations.
- Current OSHA 30-hour or 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
