Merlin is seeking an Experimental Test Pilot to join their Flight Test team in North Kingstown, RI. The role involves leading capability testing on test aircraft and collaborating with engineering teams to support the development of autonomy systems.
About the Role
As an Experimental Test Pilot, you will lead capability testing on our test aircraft, working closely with the engineering team to support the development of autonomy systems. Your responsibilities will include developing and driving processes for flight tests, collaborating with various teams to create test plans, executing flight tests, and generating analysis reports. This position may require up to 50% travel.
About You
Required:
- 5+ years direct experience with experimental flight tests or equivalent formal training and experience.
- Graduate of a recognized test pilot school or program.
- Knowledge of basic concepts of fixed wing aircraft flight dynamics and control.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
Preferred:
- Experience using software development environments and tools such as Linux, git, and Jira.
- Experience with flight controls product development, including testing and troubleshooting at the system level as well as at the software component level.
