About the Role
The Family Advocate II plans, prioritizes, and provides family intake, needs assessments, outreach, referrals, follow-ups, and case management services. Responsibilities include maintaining records and reports on programs, conducting home/school visits, organizing parent/child/teacher/community activities, managing grant information, data entry, supporting the Family Resource Center goals, training new staff and mentoring interns, collaborating with community agencies, coordinating client services, improving student attendance and academic performance, serving as a liaison between schools and community agencies, and performing other assigned duties.
About You
Required:
- Two years of progressively responsible office or clerical experience working with children and families.
- Ability to obtain a valid Nevada driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong interpersonal skills including positivity, patience, and ability to work well with children and adults.
- Knowledge of educational and community resources to support students and families.
- Skill in evaluating and coordinating programs and services, effective communication, accurate assessments, and working with diverse cultures and agencies.
- Ability to engage with families with diverse and changing needs and collaborate with various stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Associate's degree with major coursework in social work, education, child development, or related field.
- Experience in an educational or social service field working with children and families.
- Bilingual skills in Spanish.
