Summary
Connecticut Institute for Communities, Inc. (CIFC) is seeking a Part Time Family Advocate to join their team in Norwalk, CT. The role involves providing support, resources, and advocacy to families participating in the Head Start program.
About the Role
As a Family Advocate, you will build relationships with families, connect them to community resources, provide advocacy for accessing services, assist in setting and achieving educational and employment goals, collaborate with Head Start staff, maintain accurate records, and participate in program planning and recruitment activities.
About You
Required:
- Certificate or degree in social work, human services, or related field.
- Experience working with low-income families and children.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of community resources and services.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Preferred:
- Bilingual skills.
