About the Role
As a FEP Certified Peer Specialist, you will work alongside young individuals to support them in their treatment planning process. Your responsibilities will include providing peer counseling, encouraging recovery through mentorship, identifying community supports, and documenting progress. You will also model skills for employment and community integration, participate in supervision, and ensure adherence to program guidelines.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified as a peer specialist (CPS) from a certified training program
- Effectively managing your own recovery from psychosis or other mental health challenges
- At least 12 months of successful work experience or 1 year of post-secondary education totaling 24 credit hours within the last 3 years
- Ability to share your story and experiences in a compassionate and encouraging manner
Preferred:
- Knowledge of community resources in Chester County and surrounding areas
- Competency in personal recovery and coping skills related to psychosis
- Ability to assist youth in developing empowerment skills and combating stigma through self-advocacy
- Knowledge of problem-solving strategies to support youth in self-directed recovery
- Knowledge of community resources necessary for independent living
