NAVWAR is seeking a FFSP Clinical Child Counselor to join their team in San Diego, CA. The role involves assessing and counseling children in families referred to the Family Advocacy Program (FAP).
About the Role
As a FFSP Clinical Child Counselor, you will serve as an authoritative expert on emotional, behavioral, and mental health concerns of children. Your responsibilities include conducting clinical assessments, providing various forms of therapy, coordinating with military and community services, managing cases of problematic sexual behavior in children, and providing non-medical clinical counseling. You will also act as a community liaison to strengthen relationships with agencies serving the target population.
About You
Required:
Master's degree or doctorate in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Clinical Psychology, or related field from an accredited institution.
Current and valid state clinical license allowing independent health practice for at least two years.
Preferred:
Knowledge of the specific demands of the military lifestyle.
Ability to present sensitive information clearly to groups.
Knowledge of family violence dynamics and risk assessment.
