ICF is seeking a Field Archaeologist - On-call to join their team in Sacramento, CA. The role involves assisting senior archaeologists in fieldwork, including survey, testing, evaluation, and data recovery.
About the Role
As an On-Call Archaeologist, you will primarily assist in fieldwork tasks such as archaeological monitoring, survey, and construction monitoring. Additional responsibilities may include laboratory analysis, conducting background research, and report preparation. The position requires excellent field skills and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, with potential travel for up to 10 days.
About You
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field.
2+ years of field experience in archaeological monitoring and survey.
Valid driver's license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.
Preferred:
Field experience in Sacramento Area Counties.
Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with senior staff and construction personnel.
Knowledge of computers and smart devices.
Background in precontact or historic-period archaeology.
Cross training in paleontological monitoring.
Mission-era experience or training.
Osteology experience or training.
Active 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
