State of Oklahoma is seeking a Fire Prevention and Security Officer to perform inspection, enforcement, and security duties at state facilities in Oklahoma City, OK.
About the Role
The role involves inspecting buildings and grounds to eliminate fire hazards, enforcing laws and regulations, providing security against terrorism, patrolling premises, assisting employees and visitors, directing traffic, responding to fire alarms, ventilating buildings during emergencies, securing facilities, and preparing reports. At advanced levels, duties include carrying firearms, anti-terrorism activities, detaining suspects, operating weapon screening posts, and investigating suspicious acts.
About You
Required:
For Level I: No education or experience required; basic knowledge of security methods and fire prevention theory; ability to follow instructions and evaluate emergency situations.
For Level III: Basic security and/or firefighter course; three years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work; OR six months of security experience plus current armed security guard licensure through CLEET.
Ability to establish effective working relationships and enforce security regulations.
Knowledge of law enforcement principles, public safety laws, investigation techniques, and emergency response procedures (Level III).
