About the Role
As a Fire Protection Specialist 3/4, you will assist in conducting facility surveillances, site-wide fire alarm operations, and reviewing documentation related to fire protection and fire hazards analysis. You will be responsible for designing and commissioning fire detection and alarm systems, maintaining operational procedures, and ensuring compliance with codes and standards. The position may require 24/7 coverage and involves both fieldwork and office tasks.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of related experience for Specialist 3, or 12 years for Specialist 4.
- Experience in fire protection disciplines and ability to interpret policy and regulation documents.
- Proficient in common computer-based software and shared database applications.
- Experience with fire and sprinkler design qualifications or certifications.
Preferred:
- DOE Q-Clearance.
- Experience with LANL policy and procedures.
- NICET Qualifications or Certification.
- Recognized Fire Alarm or Sprinkler Design certifications.
