About the Role
As a Fleet Mechanic II, you will be responsible for evaluating and diagnosing technical repair issues, performing all types of maintenance and repairs, and ensuring the safety and mechanical soundness of city equipment and vehicles. You will work closely with various city departments to support their operational needs and contribute to the award-winning fleet's success.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED with additional specialized training in automotive/heavy truck mechanical repair.
- Two years of experience in heavy-duty truck, trailer, or construction equipment repair.
- Possession of a valid Texas driver's license.
- Must pass Drug Screen and Physical.
Preferred:
- Possession of or ability to obtain mechanical hand tools sufficient for required repair duties.
- Valid Texas Class 'B' Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Higher levels of education, experience, and certifications.
- Current National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (NIASE) Certification(s) in automobile or heavy truck.
- Knowledge of Fleet Repair Management Software Program (Faster).
- Experience in field service repair and maintenance.
