Lighthouse MI is seeking a Food Programs Volunteer Specialist to join their team in Pontiac, MI. The role involves overseeing and supporting volunteers across emergency food programs, including pantry services, food drives, and home delivery.
About the Role
As a Food Programs Volunteer Specialist, you will provide daily direction to volunteers, ensure safe and efficient operations, and foster a welcoming environment. Your responsibilities will include coordinating volunteer schedules, managing food donations, and supporting community engagement initiatives. You will also be involved in pantry operations and administrative tasks to uphold program policies and maintain a client-centered environment.
About You
Required:
Associates degree OR three total years of equivalent work experience.
2-3 years of experience coordinating volunteers, including scheduling, training, and oversight.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, Link2Feed, and CRM software.
Reliable transportation and maintenance of automobile insurance.
Valid driver’s license.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, social services, human services, communications, or related field, OR four years of experience in any of those areas.
3-4 years of experience coordinating and supervising volunteers, preferably in a nonprofit, food pantry, or community-based setting.
Experience using Link2Feed.
Knowledge of the food landscape in Oakland County and surrounding areas.
