About the Role
As the FSU Schools Head Coach - Cheer & Spirit, you will be responsible for coaching the cheer team and spirit club athletes, conditioning athletes during the off-season, monitoring individual grades, and establishing effective communication between athletes, coaches, parents, and administration. You will assist athletes in recruiting for intercollegiate cheer programs, manage and oversee home competitions and fundraisers, and develop fundamental movement patterns. Additionally, you will schedule competitions and report scores and statistics to local media.
About You
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid State of Florida Coaching Certificate (or ability to obtain prior to start of season).
- Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, Concussion in Sports, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest (required prior to season).
Preferred:
- Experience working with children and young adults in an educational or athletic setting.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- College coursework or degree in Education, Kinesiology, Sports Management or related field.
