Summary
Inside Higher Ed is seeking a FSU Schools Head Coach - Swim & Dive (Part-time, OPS) to lead and grow their middle school and high school swim and dive program in Tallahassee, FL.
About the Role
As the Head Coach for Swim & Dive, you will supervise all aspects of the program, including planning practices, developing training plans, scheduling competitions, and ensuring compliance with FHSAA rules. You will also monitor student-athlete academic progress, establish communication with stakeholders, and promote the program through various channels.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid State of Florida Coaching Certificate (or ability to obtain).
- Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, Concussion in Sports, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest (required prior to season).
Preferred:
- Experience working with children and young adults in an educational or athletic setting.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Previous swim and/or dive coaching experience at the high school or club level.
- Knowledge of FHSAA rules and interscholastic athletics.
- Lifeguard certification.
- College coursework or degree in Education, Kinesiology, Sports Management or related field.
- Experience with meet management systems and athlete development.
