About the Role
As a Personal Care Assistant / 1:1 Paraeducator, you will be responsible for supporting students with autism in a classroom setting. Your duties will include assisting with personal care, implementing behavioral strategies, and working closely with the classroom teacher and program supervisor. The position is for the school year and may be terminated based on student needs.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Hold a PA Paraeducator Credential of Competency Certificate or be willing to complete the online program within 6 months of hire.
- Completed a minimum of 48 post-secondary credits in any content area or have an associate degree or higher in any content area.
- Willing to complete 20 hours of staff development each school year.
Preferred:
- Certification in Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), Safe Crisis Management Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (SCM), or Quality Behavioral Solutions: Safety-Care Crisis Prevention (QBS).
- Experience working with students with autism or special needs.
