Summary
Sedgwick is seeking a General Adjuster to join their team in Bay City, MI. The role involves investigating claims for personal, casualty, or property loss and attempting to effect out-of-court settlements.
About the Role
As a General Adjuster, you will handle complex losses, examine claim forms, interview claimants and witnesses, consult records, estimate costs, prepare reports, negotiate settlements, and recommend litigation when necessary. You will also assist in preparing loss experience reports and support the organization's quality programs.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Five (5) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Must have earned the IIA-AIC designation and be actively pursuing another professional insurance designation.
- Appropriate state adjuster license is required.
Preferred:
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
- PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.
- Demonstrated commitment to timely reporting.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
