About the Role
As a General Mechanic (Provisional), you will be responsible for a variety of maintenance tasks including plumbing repairs, electrical work, installation of fixtures, and general upkeep of facilities. You will work independently or as part of a small team, supervising unskilled workers as needed. Your duties will include repairing machinery, installing shelving and cabinets, and performing minor construction tasks.
About You
Required:
- Continuous and permanent status as a Maintenance Assistant, Maintenance Assistant (Water) or Laborer in the competitive class for at least one year, plus two years of full-time experience in a skilled building trade.
- Possession of a current New York State Driver's License.
Preferred:
- Graduation from a vocational/technical high school in a skilled building trade and one year of full-time experience.
- Three years of full-time experience in a skilled building trade.
