About the Role
As a GI Technician, you will work under the direct supervision of a surgeon to assist in both simple and complex endoscopic procedures. Your responsibilities will include cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining endoscopes, facilitating patient flow, stocking procedure rooms, and performing clerical duties. You will also be involved in quality control checks and adherence to infection control policies.
About You
Required:
- Knowledge and ability to operate equipment for cleaning and disinfection of endoscopes.
- Ability to set up a clean field for gastroenterological procedures.
- Skills in maintaining a neat and safe work area.
- Knowledge in proper handling of equipment post-cleaning/disinfection.
- Experience in inventory control and stocking supplies.
- Good guest relations skills to assist visitors, staff, and physicians.
- Commitment to quality control checks for sterilization equipment.
- Adherence to infection control policies and OSHA guidelines.
Preferred:
- Experience in a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with quality improvement programs.
