State of Indiana is seeking a Gift Shop Purchaser to join their team in Indianapolis, IN. The role involves overseeing the sourcing and procurement of merchandise for the Indiana State Park Inns’ retail gift shops.
About the Role
As a Gift Shop Purchaser, you will be responsible for selecting trendy goods, managing vendor relationships, negotiating pricing, and analyzing sales data to guide buying decisions. You will curate cohesive merchandise collections that align with customer demand while maintaining strong inventory control. Additionally, you will plan, direct, and coordinate overall gift shop operations to support a consistent and engaging retail experience across all inns.
About You
Required:
- A degree in marketing, business, advertising, or another related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a retail leadership position.
- Experience with techniques and sales methods used to present a product or service to customers.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with collecting and analyzing sales levels of products and services.
- Knowledge of pricing strategies and their outcomes in the market.
