WSP in the U.S. is seeking a GIS Analyst (FEMA Risk MAP & Hazard Mitigation) to join their team in Denver, CO. The role involves creating high-quality maps and GIS analysis to support various engineering and emergency management projects.
About the Role
As a GIS Analyst, you will be responsible for creating maps, performing data manipulation and analysis, and developing automated GIS processes. You will work on projects related to FEMA floodplain mapping, dam breach analysis, and hazard mitigation plans, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project delivery while collaborating with a team.
About You
Required:
- BS degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience in GIS or equivalent education and experience.
- Proficiency in ESRI's ArcGIS Pro and Microsoft Office software.
- Familiarity with database development and management.
- Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and excellent analytical/problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Basic familiarity with Python programming language.
- Experience with application development for data collection using laptops, smartphones, and tablets.
- Working knowledge of FEMA Risk MAP program.
- Experience processing LiDAR data.
