Summary
BlueHalo, an AV company, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated GNC Engineer to join their Kinetic Effectors Group in Huntsville, AL. The role involves leading the GNC Engineering Team from requirements through development and oversight of flight software models for the Next Generation Counter Uncrewed Aerial System Missile (NGCM) in support of national defense objectives.
About the Role
As a GNC Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, government customers, and suppliers to deliver cutting-edge solutions in a mission-critical environment. Your responsibilities will include leading the design, analysis, and implementation of GNC algorithms for missile systems, developing and validating missile simulation models, analyzing system performance, and providing technical leadership within the GNC team.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 15+ years of relevant professional experience in complex system development, with 3+ years in a GNC technical leadership role for missile development programs.
- Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, and simulation tools for GNC development.
- Strong knowledge of control theory, missile flight dynamics, and estimation techniques.
- Experience with embedded systems and real-time software implementation.
- Candidate must be a U.S. citizen with an active Secret security clearance.
Preferred:
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience architecting complex weapon systems for the U.S. Department of Defense.
- Experience with testing to support GNC verification and validation, including flight testing and analysis of telemetry data.
- Prior work with air-to-air, air-to-ground, or surface-to-air missile systems.
