Xona is seeking a GNC Orbit Controls Engineer to join their team in Burlingame, CA. The role involves designing and implementing algorithms and onboard software for orbit determination, guidance, maneuver execution, and post-maneuver analysis.
About the Role
As a GNC Orbit Controls Engineer, you will develop open-loop and closed-loop controllers for RAAN and LTAN control, implement and maintain onboard orbit propagators, and build orbit determination pipelines. You will also design burns and long-arc trajectories, plan electric-propulsion long burns, and maintain MATLAB and C++ simulators while performing SIL and HIL tests.
About You
Required:
Strong background in orbital mechanics and simulation.
Experience in building production guidance, control, or navigation software in C and C++.
Familiarity with MATLAB and Simulink for analysis and modeling.
Preferred:
Master’s or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Control Systems, Applied Physics, or a related field.
Hands-on electric propulsion experience including thrust modeling and calibration.
Expertise in trajectory design and optimization.
