About the Role
As a Group Facilitator, you will be a vital member of the Recreation Therapy department, responsible for designing and implementing structured group activities that promote independent living skills, recreation, and social interactions. You will serve as a direct care provider, managing the milieu and supervising participants during group sessions, while collaborating with the Recreation Therapy team to foster a therapeutic environment.
About You
Required:
- Two years post-secondary education in Recreation Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or a closely related field, or 2 years of experience in a mental health setting with a pediatric population.
- Ability to identify and manage group dynamics and skill in behavior management.
- Ability to develop therapeutic rapport with patients and assist with crisis intervention.
Preferred:
- Experience working with children and adolescents diagnosed with mental illness.
- Skills in communication, both verbally and in writing.
