John Deere is seeking a Hay and Forage Specialist to join their team in Ottumwa, IA. The role involves providing in-depth inspection and training on Self Propelled Forage Harvester, Large Square Baler, and Self Propelled Windrower machines.
About the Role
As a Hay and Forage Specialist, you will be responsible for inspecting machines, training customers and dealers, planning travel based on harvest schedules, assisting with diagnostics and repairs, and documenting issues for root cause analysis. You will also provide formal training and support dealer sales personnel in demonstrating products to prospective customers.
About You
Required:
- Knowledge of dealer technical and product support competencies.
- Technical knowledge of hay and forage products and attachments.
- Powertrain, hydraulic and electrical systems diagnosis skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 75%.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal day-to-day direction.
Preferred:
- Experience with Self Propelled Forage Harvester, Self Propelled Windrower, or Large Square Baler.
- Field experience dealing with customers and/or dealers in a technical environment.
- Effective conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Formal presentation and public speaking skills.
