Summary
Michael & Susan Dell Foundation is seeking a Head of Accounting to join their team in Austin, TX. The role involves leading the accounting function within the Corporate Finance team, ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and operational excellence.
About the Role
As Head of Accounting, you will oversee financial reporting and compliance, manage accounting operations and process excellence, develop policies and technical accounting, maintain internal controls and risk management, provide financial analysis and insights, lead special projects, and manage and mentor finance team members.
About You
Required:
- Certified Public Accountant required.
- 5+ years of public accounting experience in audit or tax; experience in nonprofit or private foundation accounting highly desirable.
- 10+ years of hands-on operational accounting controllership within a dynamic, fast-paced organization.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and preferable familiarity with IRS Form 990-PF requirements.
- Proficiency with enterprise systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP) and reporting tools (Excel, Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience leading consolidated financial reporting for a multi-entity, multinational organization.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
