About the Role
As the Head of External Communications, you will lead the narrative strategy to evolve Checkr from a 'background check company' to a 'trust platform.' Your responsibilities include managing media relations, amplifying executive voices, building social presence, collaborating cross-functionally, and coordinating the communications calendar for product launches and industry events.
About You
Required:
- 10+ years in corporate communications and/or PR experience at high-growth B2B technology companies.
- Proven track record repositioning or scaling communications for companies in transition ($500M+ revenue preferred).
- Deep media relationships in business, HR tech, and technology verticals.
- Executive partnership experience with C-suite leaders.
- Crisis management experience and sound judgment in sensitive situations.
Preferred:
- Editorial instincts with the ability to identify compelling stories and translate complex technology into clear narratives.
- Team leadership skills with the ability to build and manage a communications function.
- Startup agility with enterprise-level execution standards.
- An A-player mindset with a strong bias for action.
