Town of Chatham is seeking a Health Inspector to join their Health Division in Chatham, MA. The role involves enforcing public health and environmental regulations through field inspections and various administrative tasks.
About the Role
As a Health Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting field inspections related to septic systems, food establishments, housing, pools, beaches, and other regulated facilities. Your duties will include reviewing permit applications, responding to complaints, monitoring communicable diseases, participating in emergency preparedness planning, and providing support to the Board of Health. This position requires you to act on behalf of the Health Agent when necessary and may involve attending meetings as required.
About You
Required:
Knowledge of federal, state, and local public health regulations.
Experience in conducting inspections and enforcing health codes.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Certification as a Health Inspector or similar credentials.
