About the Role
As a Healthcare Interpreter, you will be responsible for rendering messages from a source language to a target language during healthcare encounters. This includes interpreting for non-English and limited-English speaking patients, translating patient-related materials, and ensuring accurate communication between patients and healthcare providers. You will also maintain interpretation records, attend mandatory training, and assist in training healthcare staff on language access services.
About You
Required:
- Successful completion of a Healthcare Interpreter Training Program, including Medical Terminology, and proof of language proficiency.
- Certification or credential from a recognized Healthcare Interpreter credentialing organization and proof of language proficiency.
Preferred:
- Experience interpreting and translating in a healthcare setting as a certified medical interpreter.
- Valid California Class C Driver License or ability to use alternative transportation.
