About the Role
About You
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working on Cat equipment or similar heavy equipment.
- Strong proficiency in transmissions, engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to diagnose and repair heavy equipment and components in the field.
- Proficient in computer use and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Solid math skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Capable of working independently in the field without supervision.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced service environment.
- Maintain a personal tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks.
- Must have a safe work history.
- Ability to operate a service vehicle.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- DOT and MSHA certifications required.
- Associate degree in a related field.
- Experience with CAT heavy equipment.
- CDL Class A or B license.

Milton CAT is the Caterpillar Dealer for the Northeast region of the United States. Our territory includes Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and upstate New York. The company has two main divisions; Earthmoving and Power Systems. The Earthmoving Division sells, rents and supports machinery and work tools for segments that include the construction, landscaping, forestry, mining, quarry, crushing and screening and municipal sectors. The Power Systems Division sells, rents and supports power generators and air compressors, and has a specialized engineering group that works with customers to develop customized power systems. Those Milton CAT locations close to water have a marine focus; an industrial group markets engines to manufacturers to power their own machines; and the on-highway truck engine business is an important component for all of our locations.
