About the Role
As a Highway Patrol Electronic Technician 2, you will independently install, repair, test, and perform preventative maintenance on complex electronic and communication equipment in Ohio State Highway Patrol facilities and vehicles. You will comply with FCC and state regulations, perform testing of network service connectivity, and install or program routers and other network-related equipment. The position requires travel throughout the district for regular or emergency work and assisting with inventory control of electronic equipment.
About You
Required:
- Completion of a two-year technical program in electronics or radio communications and 24 months of experience in an electronics or radio communications position.
- Valid driver's license as per Section 4507.02 (A)(1) of Revised Code for positions requiring travel.
Preferred:
- Completion of an associate core program in electronic engineering and 24 months of experience in electronics, telecommunications, or radio communications.
- Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualification for Employment noted above.
