About the Role
As a Hospice Volunteer, you will work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator and the interdisciplinary team to support patients and their families. Your tasks may include reading to patients, engaging in arts & crafts, listening to music, reminiscing, or simply having conversations. This role is vital in ensuring a meaningful and comfortable experience for patients and their families.
About You
Required:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a reliable and insured method of transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Must be willing to visit patients in their home setting (skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, hospitals, homes, etc.).
- Must be willing to commit at least one hour a week for a minimum of six months.
- Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language.
- Must be able to deal tactfully with confidential and personal information regarding patients.
