About the Role
As a Housing Navigator, you will be responsible for educating veterans on available housing vouchers, advising them on housing applications, and establishing partnerships with homeless assistance service agencies. This position serves Bergen, Hudson, and Passaic counties and requires building relationships with landlords and referral agencies to facilitate housing searches and leasing.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a mental health related discipline or High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years’ experience.
- Knowledge of poverty and homelessness causes, trends, issues, and solutions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong judgment and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
- Proficient in MS Office products and general computer literacy.
- Valid NJ Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred:
- Bilingual skills.
- Lived experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues.
