Summary
Vestas is seeking an HR & Labor Relations Director - Manufacturing to lead HR for Blades and Nacelles Manufacturing Facilities as part of Vestas Americas Manufacturing. The role is based in Houston, TX.
About the Role
As the HR & Labor Relations Director, you will oversee HR strategy, programs, processes, and initiatives in workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee and labor relations, leadership development, performance management, and succession planning. You will serve as a strategic partner to factory leaders, supervise a team of HR business partners, and ensure alignment of HR initiatives with business goals. Responsibilities include managing employee relations, negotiating with union representatives, and ensuring compliance with employment laws.
About You
Required:
- BA/BS degree with at least 10 years of related HR / OD experience or equivalent.
- 5 years' experience managing direct reports.
- Experience supporting multiple locations and manufacturing workforce.
- Demonstrated HR generalist or business partnering experience.
- Labor Relations experience in a unionized environment.
- Knowledge of U.S. employment law.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated flexibility in a diverse and changing organization.
- Skilled in interpersonal communication and relationship building.
- Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comprehensive computer skills, specifically in MS Office products.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
