Anode Technology Company is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join their team in San Francisco, CA. The role involves building the foundation of people operations, talent acquisition, and organizational development as the company scales.
About the Role
As the first HR Business Partner at Anode, you will be responsible for establishing core HR infrastructure, including policies, performance frameworks, and compensation strategies. You will manage talent acquisition, hiring operations, and organizational planning while ensuring a strong company culture during rapid growth.
About You
Required:
5–7 years of experience in People/HR roles, with exposure to HR operations and talent acquisition.
Hands-on experience building HR infrastructure from scratch, including policies and performance systems.
Strong recruiting fundamentals, including sourcing and managing hiring pipelines.
Proven ability to handle sensitive employee relations situations with discretion and empathy.
Comfort operating as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
Experience as an early or sole People hire at an early-stage startup or growth-stage company.
Experience supporting hardware, manufacturing, or deep-tech companies.
Familiarity with California employment law and multi-state compliance considerations.
Experience with compensation benchmarking and building pay band frameworks.
Background in organizational design or headcount planning tied to funding milestones.
Proficiency with modern HRIS, ATS, and equity management platforms.
SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent certification.
