Summary
Fluidstack is seeking an Infrastructure Deployment Engineer to join their team in Austin, TX. The role involves overseeing the full lifecycle of physical installation projects related to fiber optics and data center infrastructure.
About the Role
As an Infrastructure Deployment Engineer, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in fiber optics and structured cabling. Your responsibilities will include managing contractor schedules, performing quality assurance and control checks, and ensuring installations meet design standards and safety codes. You will also conduct optical loss testing and manage vendor relationships while generating documentation and educating internal teams on best practices.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in data center or mission-critical infrastructure deployment.
- Deep technical expertise in fiber optic systems and installation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong organizational skills and a proven track record of driving projects to completion.
Preferred:
- Industry certifications such as BICSI RCDD or relevant vendor certifications (e.g., Cisco, Juniper).
- Experience with hyperscale or large-scale data center environments.
- Familiarity with IT service operations frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
