About the Role
As an Independent Living Counselor, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support residents of the Chelsea Foyer. Your responsibilities include managing emergencies, ensuring compliance with program policies, diffusing crises, and facilitating the transition of young adults to independent living. You will also participate in fire drills, communicate regularly with team members, and integrate the Sanctuary Model framework into daily practices.
About You
Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalency; Bachelor's degree preferred plus one or more years’ experience working in a residential setting.
- Clear understanding of the needs of young adults experiencing homelessness and sensitivity to ethnic and cultural differences.
Preferred:
- Commitment to work from a strength-based, youth and family development and trauma-informed perspective.
- Excellent crisis intervention, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
