Summary
Guard Owl is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. The role involves designing and launching an agentic AI backend, integrating OpenAI APIs, and developing event-driven microservices.
About the Role
As a Software Engineer, you will own the end-to-end design and launch of the new agentic AI backend. Your responsibilities will include integrating OpenAI APIs, building prompt-chaining pipelines for incident summarization, and developing event-driven microservices using Node.js/TypeScript. You will ensure performance, security, and reliability of the systems you develop.
About You
Required:
- 5+ years building production backend services in Node.js/TypeScript or Python.
- Hands-on experience with OpenAI APIs or comparable LLM integrations.
- Deep understanding of REST/GraphQL microservices, event-driven architectures (Kafka, Pub/Sub, etc.), and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).
- Strong data skills (Postgres, MongoDB geo-queries, Redis caching).
Preferred:
- Bias toward action and ownership mentality.
