NYS Office of Information Technology Services is seeking an Information Technology Specialist 2 (NY HELPs) to join their team in New York, NY. The role involves supporting remote access for NYS agencies and troubleshooting various IT systems.
About the Role
As an Information Technology Specialist 2, you will implement, configure, support, and troubleshoot Pulse and Cisco VPN remote access devices on an Enterprise level. You will onboard new agencies requiring remote access, configure and troubleshoot Cisco/Arista routers, switches, firewalls, and F5 load balancers, and support multiple operating systems including Windows, Mac, iOS, Cisco, and Linux. Your responsibilities will also include conducting code reviews and testing prior to production implementation and assisting staff to ensure timely task completion.
About You
Required:
- A Bachelor’s or higher level degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field with eighteen credit hours in Computer Science.
- A total of four years of experience in network, server, storage, and systems management; telecommunications; IT customer support and training; or related areas.
Preferred:
- Experience with Pulse and Cisco VPN remote access devices.
- Knowledge of DNS and experience with routing path changes.
