About the Role
As an Inspection and Diagnostics Technologist, you will be part of the vessel repair and inspection team, supporting the evaluation of confinement vessels at LANL's NM and NV sites. Your responsibilities will include using 3D CAD systems, inspection and metrology tooling, and preparing engineering specifications. You will work closely with a multi-discipline group of engineers and technicians to ensure the integrity and safety of confinement vessels.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology, Science, Math or related degree from an accredited institution.
- 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge in utilizing 3D CAD Systems and design and drafting experience.
- Experience with inspection and metrology tooling such as handheld 3-D laser scanners, calipers, micrometers, and profilometers.
- Demonstrated experience in formal technical report writing, record keeping, and procedure writing.
Preferred:
- Experience in NDE methods such as mag particle, liquid penetrant, and visual inspection.
- Experience with Creaform 3-D Scanners and related software.
- Welding experience.
- Basic understanding of ASME Boiler Pressure Vessel Code.
- Experience working in hazardous operations such as radiological contamination areas and confined spaces.
